Hydrometer Group to become Diehl Metering Corporate Division

Johannes Sappa appointed to Diehl's Executive Board

In view of the favorable development of the Ansbach-based Hydrometer Group and its increasing importance for the Diehl Group as a whole, the company will be managed as Metering Corporate Division from June 1, 2010.

The previous Chairman of Hydrometer's Board of Management, Johannes Sappa, has been appointed President of Diehl Metering's newly established Corporate Division Board. The other board members are Frank Gutzeit (commercial management), Jean-François Marguet (marketing/sales) and Dr. Robert Westphal (engineering).

Effective June 1, 2010, Mr. Sappa will also be appointed to Diehl's Executive Board. Like Diehl's other corporate divisions - Metall, Controls, Defence and Aerosystems - the new division will thus be directly represented on the holding's Executive Board.

The Metering Corporate Division develops, produces and markets communicating, high-precision measuring devices for water, thermal energy, gas and electricity. Diehl Metering is simultaneously the leading provider of customer services, enabling immediate and complete transparency in energy consumption as well as energy- saving features (smart metering). Introduction of smart meters will make a significant contribution to achieving the German government's climate objectives.
