DIEHL Metering takes over EVB Energie AG

DIEHL Metering has taken over EVB Energie AG of Velbert with effect from 1 January 2010. The integration of this energy service provider enables the DIEHL Metering Group to expand its metering, service and customer management business and reposition itself in the energy market. The previous activities of DIEHL Energy Solutions and EVB Energie AG are offered together under the name EVB Energy Solutions GmbH (EVB). With the acquisition of EVB Energie, DIEHL Metering can develop its position as worldwide multi utility supplier for Smart Metering. 

DIEHL Metering is now extending its portfolio through EVB – the market leader and independent energy service provider in the Smart Metering segment. The new EVB Energy Solutions GmbH will strengthen the metering segment and complete the range of products for service, service management and customer management. The corporate units of DIEHL Metering contribute know-how in the development and production of meters and automatic meter reading systems, and EVB provides practical experience in the introduction of Smart Metering projects in the IT and process landscape of energy utilities, and the essential process knowledge. This combination means all Smart Metering products and services can now be offered by one company.

The new EVB Energy Solutions GmbH represents the merging of two leading companies in the Smart Metering segment. Bundling these fields of competence creates clear advantages for energy utilities: The use of intelligent meter technology means costs can be specifically optimized and the savings used to fund investment. 

Johannes Alte-Teigeler, previously Chief Executive Officer of EVB, has been appointed as CEO of the new EVB Energy Solutions GmbH. Rolf Benken, also on the board of EVB until now, has been appointed as a further Member of the Management Board.
